For the delivery of flooring, there is one primary consideration. Is the ship-to location a commercial or residential address? For the continental U.S., DwellSmart offers a maximum shipping charge for flooring orders of $150 for delivery (for Forbo, including bulletin board and furniture linoleum) and $350 for our other flooring manufacturers.
Although most flooring orders are shipped to a residential address, we value our commercial orders and are often able to reduce the shipping cost if the ship-to address meets the following qualifications:
- The address must be located within a business district and accessible by a very large delivery truck.
- The ship-to location must be staffed during regular business hours (the delivery service will not call ahead to schedule the delivery)
- The ship-to location must be able to receive the delivery. If the location has a loading dock or forklift and can accommodate large trucks, this will provide for the best delivery scenario. If no loading dock or forklift is available, commercial delivery may still be feasible if personnel at the ship-to location are available to unload the flooring cartons from the delivery truck. This method only works effectively for smaller orders. For larger orders, we recommend you contact us so that we can ensure a lift gate is added to your order or other measures as needed to facilitate delivery.
If you do believe your ship-to location can accommodate a commercial delivery, please contact us, and we will reduce your shipping cost as much as possible.
Small flooring orders such as one box of COREtec or three yards of Marmoleum may often be shipped using ground parcel services such as Fedex Ground. We are able to charge lower shipping amounts for these smaller orders.
Please note that flooring is shipped for 'curbside delivery'. A recipient at the ship-to address will be responsible for moving the flooring 'inside'. In some cases, our manufacturers offer an 'inside delivery' option for an additional charge. Please contact us if you would like this option.
For the continental U.S., we cover shipping for flooring orders of $2,500+ from a single manufacturer.
In general, we are unable to ship flooring outside the U.S., but contact us, and we can verify. We can ship Forbo flooring to Caribbean islands, but we will have to determine and quote shipping costs after you input your order. To select this option, you can check 'Forbo Flooring, Caribbean Delivery'. Your charge will default to $300 but may vary considerably based on quantity ordered, commercial or residential delivery, and ship-to location. You will have the opportunity to confirm the shipping charges or cancel your order.
