DwellSmart's Shipping & Return Policy
Domestic Shipping via UPS: DwellSmart offers UPS Ground as well as 2nd Day Air and Next Day air options.  When we fulfill and ship your order, we will send you an email with a UPS tracking number and link to the UPS website. This will allow you to track the progress of your order to the shipping destination you entered for it. If you have any questions about or problems with a scheduled delivery, please contact UPS directly at 1-800-742-5877 and provide them with your tracking number.

Our standard method of shipment is UPS Ground.  During checkout, you will see the alternative cost for shipping UPS Next Day Air or 2nd Day Air.  Please note that if you need something urgently, you should call to verify whether or not we can ship your item quickly.  We like to get all of our orders out within 24 hours, but it may take us 2-3 days to process some orders.  And, occasionally, it may take longer as we may be out of stock for a particular item.

 
When selecting items to add to your shopping cart, please note any messages that are displayed with regard to delivery timeframe.  For items not currently in stock or requiring longer lead times, we display the expected delivery timeframe.
 
Items that are too large or heavy for UPS are shipped via common carrier.  Smaller items may be shipped by USPS at DwellSmart's discretion.
 
In some cases, our vendors offer special shipping arrangements and prices.  These shipping methods are only available for orders limited to that vendor's items.  Some of the vendors offering such programs are Marmoleum, Natural Cork, and EcoTimber.  If these programs are available for an item, we will note information about the shipping option in the item and/or category description.

For UPS Ground shipments, the following map shows the average transit time (in business days) from our location.  Please note that the map only reflects the average time for UPS, and some shipments may require more or less time in transit. In addition, some items are shipped directly from the manufacturer's location or distribution center.



Domestic Shipping via USPS: Smaller orders may be less expensive to ship through the United States Postal Service (USPS) Priority Mail service. You may choose USPS as an option for shipping small-sized and/or lightweight items. You can also choose USPS if you would like to ship to a PO Box.

 
International Shipping via USPS: DwellSmart ships to over 200 countries worldwide using the United States Postal Service (USPS) Priority Mail International service. Transit times vary considerably for international shipments so please allow 8 to 21 days for delivery. When we ship your order, we will provide you with a USPS tracking link so you can track the status of your package.
 
We are not able to ship oversized items and some of our liquid products to destinations outside the United States. If we are unable to process your international order, we will notify you as soon as possible. 
 
Your package may be subject to customs fees, taxes, and duties imposed by the destination country.  These costs are determined by your local customs office, and DwellSmart and the USPS are not responsible for the payment of these additional charges. Please contact your local customs office for more information as DwellSmart is not able to determine in advance the additional fees, duties, or taxes which may be imposed. If delivery of a package is refused or returned for delivery failure, DwellSmart reserves the right to charge you for all subsequent shipping charges incurred.
 
Packaging: DwellSmart has a firm commitment to reducing, reusing, and recycling. When you receive a shipment from us, you’ll probably notice that we reuse boxes and packing materials that we receive from our vendors. In the event that there are any “Styrofoam peanuts” included, rest assured that we are reusing those as well – as a policy, we do not purchase them and encourage our vendors not to use them as they are not biodegradable. While the shipment packaging may be less than pristine, we think our customers will appreciate that DwellSmart strives to recycle all materials where possible. We strongly encourage our customers to recycle the packaging materials as well.

Return Policy for Internet Sales: If you are not satisfied with your purchase for any reason, please send an e-mail to info@dwellsmart.com or call us at (843) 805-7055 to ask for a Return Authorization Number (RA#). You must request the RA# within 14 days of receipt of your item(s). Please provide the sales order number included on your packing slip and/or other information so that we may easily locate your order record. Be sure to specify which item(s) you would like to return and the reason for the return.

We will accept returns of most items if unused and in their original packaging (see exceptions below). If items are returned to DwellSmart within 30 days from original delivery, we will issue a full refund in the form of your original payment less gift wrap charges (if applicable) and actual shipping costs incurred by DwellSmart.

We will pay both inbound and outbound shipping charges to replace items under the following conditions:
  • The incorrect item was shipped
  • The item is defective (subject to the terms of our Warranty Policy)
  • The item was damaged during shipping (provided that the carrier was notified of the damage prior to the acceptance of the shipment)
All internet sales are final 30 days after delivery.

Return Policy for In-store Purchases: Items must be returned to the store within 14 days of date of purchase, unused and in their original packaging (see exceptions below).

Exceptions to Return Policies: The following items may not be returned:
  • Sale items
  • Special order and/or customized items (e.g., cut-to-size carpeting or linoleum, tinted paints, and stained cork)
  • Flooring (except per arrangements according to manufacturer’s warranties)
  • Mattresses, mattress toppers, and mattress pads
  • Any opened bedding items (e.g., sheets, pillows, and comforters)
  • Any opened filters for air and water purifiers
  • Items that have been used or altered by the customer
Warranty Policy: For products purchased from DwellSmart, any warranty applicable is provided by the manufacturer. In general, these warranties are limited to defects in materials or workmanship, and remedies are limited to repair or replacement of defective items. Please refer to the manufacturer’s warranty for the terms that apply to your product. You may request copies of manufacturer warranties (if available) by contacting us at info@dwellsmart.com.

For building materials such as flooring, NO CLAIMS ON VISUAL PRODUCT DEFECTS OR COLOR OR QUANTITY OR OTHER SHIPPING ERRORS WILL BE HONORED ONCE MATERIAL IS INSTALLED.

In some cases, DwellSmart will be able to assist you with claims processing pertaining to a manufacturer’s warranty. In other situations, the manufacturer requires that you contact them directly for warranty claims.

DwellSmart does not provide a warranty for any of the items it sells, and we shall not be liable for any incidental, indirect, or consequential damages including but not limited to loss of property, loss of profits, loss of use or any other damages resulting from your use of items purchased from DwellSmart, however they may occur.

Return Procedure: After you have obtained an RA# (see above), please package the item(s) in the original packaging with tags, instructions and accessories, and adequate packing materials. Enclose a copy of the packing slip sent with the original shipment along with your RA#. For your protection, please use a reliable carrier that provides package tracking and insurance. DwellSmart is not responsible for items lost or damaged in return transit. Mail your package to:

Upon receipt, we will process your return and, provided the return meets the above conditions, we will issue your refund or exchange merchandise. Please allow 10 business days for DwellSmart to process refunds.

Order Cancellations: If you would like to cancel an order, please contact us immediately by phone (843-805-7055) or e-mail (info@dwellsmart.com). If we are able to stop the order prior to shipping and prior to charging your credit card, you will not incur any charges. However, if the order has already shipped, you will need to return the order as described above. If we are able to cancel your order prior to shipping but after charging your credit card, you will incur a 4% charge to cover credit card processing fees; other charges will be refunded.
