EnGuard is manufactured from recycled plastic bottles and high performance fibers. These are the same fibers found in baby diapers, apparel, bed linens, and upholstery, so EnGuard is safe to touch and safe to install. Enguard is manufactured by Vita Nonwovens, a world-class producer of cellular and industrial polymers, thermoplastic sheet, and technical nonwovens. For over 60 years, Vita has manufactured high quality nonwovens designed for thermal & acoustic performance, moisture management, and filtration. Vita specializes in engineered applications utilizing nonwoven thermal bonded and mechanically entangled technologies. Each facility provides advanced measurement and accuracy through detailed controls and expert personnel, placing Vita Nonwovens at the forefront of quality aspects like: web density, thickness accuracy, blending and polymer science, permeability, absorption, and insulation.
Installation Instructions:
- Open plastic with standard knife or blade tool. The product is packed under compression, keep in mind that the thickness will recover once opened. To achieve the peak R value, it is recommended the insulation be shaken out briefly to allow for maximum thickness recovery.
- Install the insulation panels between studs. In most cases the product will friction fit. Use a knife or blade tool to cut and fit tightly around obstructions such as cables or pipe.Keep insulation at least 3 inches away from non IC (Insulation Contact) rated light fixtures. Only IC rated recessed lights can be covered with insulation. Keep insulation away from exhaust flues of furnaces, water heaters, space heaters, chimney flues or other heat or combustion producing devices.
- Install vapor barriers per code and DOE recommendations. For more information, visit www.eere.energy.gov. Cover the insulated framing with gypsum, drywall, or other approved finishing wall material.

Because of the size of this product, shipping even one or two bags can be expensive. For larger orders, the shipping cost per bag is lower. You may call us for a custom shipping quote.
