Handmade by the women of the women's cooperative of El Cerro, Nicaragua. As thousands of pine needles make up each basket, it can take a woman a full week to weave one. The baskets are finished with a rich leather trim.
The purchase of these decorative pine needle baskets helps continue this art form and provides an excellent incentive to good forest management. The manufacturer is a member of the Fair Trade Federation. All of their products are made from recycled, sustainable or indigenous materials.
