Charleston Coffee Roasters ground coffee is made from premium Arabica beans, carefully selected from farms around the globe that maintain traditional, sustainable growing practices. It is slowly hand-roasted in small batches in Charleston, S.C. Each bag is dated so you know it's fresh.
All coffee is either organic or rainforest alliance certified. For the decaf version, the beans are decaffeinated using the natural Swiss Water process.
Charleston Organic: an Organic coffee that is good for you (the beans come from only certified farms) and tastes delightful. This coffee is a delightful blend of 3 different organic coffees from Africa, Indonesia and South America. Individually, they each have an exceptional flavor. When blended, the individual flavors combine into a taste which is truly unique and delicious.
Organic Nicaragua: Nicaraguan coffees from Matagalpa have regularly out performed many other balanced Central and South American high-grown coffees in recent competitions. The Matagalpa bean is renowned for its incredible versatility, showing a wide range of deeply rich flavors in anything from a light city roast to a dark Vienna roast. This medium roast is a tongue-cuddler: it is soft, warm and wraps your tongue in comforting tastes. The aroma has a sweet, syrupy quality with a hint of pecan shells and delicious fruit/nut scents of lychee nuts. The taste presents initially with a gentle combination of dark chocolate and cherry liquor, brightened by a jot of torn lime peel and rolled into balance with hints of wild herbs and sweet mountain flowers.
Organic Sumatra: Sumatran coffees are very popular today. After drinking this one, you will know why. Careful roasting brings out the many complex flavors in this single origin coffee. The hints of chocolate will make you want to leave out the milk and sugar. If you are new to Dark Roasts, this is a great one to try.
Rainforest Panama: The beans in this coffee have been carefully selected from farms certified by the Rainforest Alliance. The beans are taken up to a full, dark roast that brings out the chocolate notes. This coffee goes smooth over the pallet, leaving a great taste that lasts.
Rainforest Colombian Decaf: With this single origin, Swiss Water Process Colombian Decaf, you get a decaf coffee with the full flavor of a single origin coffee. Traditionally, decaffeinated coffees have tended to lack flavor as well as caffeine. To remove the caffeine from coffee beans, many of the decaf coffees on the market use methylene chloride (sounds tasty, huh? well, it tastes like it sounds). This coffee uses the patented Swiss Water Process to remove caffeine.
